Fraud Alert: SBA Past Due Calls for EIDL Payments

If you’re a business owner and you’ve received unexpected calls about past-due payments from the SBA, you’re not alone.

Recently, the Nebraska District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has seen an uptick in business owners receiving phone calls and emails for past due payments on COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) that they did not take out.

In many cases, it’s believed that fraudulent EIDLs have been taken out using stolen identities. 

If you think a fraudulent SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan has been taken out using a stolen identity, it’s crucial to report the fraud to the SBA. There are a handful of important steps that you must take to ensure the SBA is aware of the fraud case.
